Septemeber 7th, 2003, Rakovnik - 2nd round of run ups:
I suggestively inform the girls (I mean Betyna and Agbani), that there will be a rabbit. 14 months
old Agbani really exemplarly rears up at the starting post. Four years old Betyna is not so interested
any more. They are not so happy by shaking jaggedly plastic, which should be pulled on the winch. Ag
wants a real rabbit. And now! A lot of rabbits!
3-2-1-----GO
"R R A A A B I I T T T" - I let go the dogs.
After their experience from the first round, they now cooperate as one team. Ag hunts the rabbit-plastic
as much as she can, meanwhile Betyna as the older one attacks him from side. In about 50 metres the
"rabbit" obidiently bends aside according to the lane defined by rollers, meanwhile … my dogs do not
care about the winch and continue straight. They leave the race-field and run to take look to close forest,
if there is really hidden the promised rabbit.
At the same time the rabbit-winch still presisely copies the lane defined by rollers on the empty race-field.
""R R A A A B I I T T T !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"" Here is the sanctuary!!!!!
COME STRAIGHT BACK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! scream so loudly so they must hear me even on the town square in Beroun.
Luckely the dogs are returning back to the race-filed, catching the rabbit-winch, but it is very half-hearted action
without an interest. And the post instead of set and awarded biting they give me this blaming look again meaning
am I really so stupid or did I cheated on them for some purpose (but we do not do that). I imediately promise
a bicycle trip in the evening, a bone to eat, a cat, a mouse, a wasp, a biscuit, basicly all they like, but they
still look quit angry. I will have to try for long time before they will respect me again.
So I finally realized that ridgeback doesn't really suitable for coursing. Unless he would get avulsion
about 9/10 of his brain, but because we have 2 ridgebacks at home, it would be probably to expensive.
That is why coursing will not be our style
